INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU (2 days - 1 night)

DESCRIPTION

This is the short version of the famous and stunning Inca Trail, for those who have less time available but do not want to miss this unique journey. We start at km. 104 and walked to the complex Wiñahuayna, then continue toward inti Punku (Sun Gate) to 2.650 meters above sea level, where we will see a stunning sunset, and then continued towards the town of Aguas Calientes where we spend the night. The next day started early visit to the city of Machu Picchu.

Day 1

The hotel pickup is between 5:45 and 6:00 am., And transfer to the train station to Machu Picchu. The scenery along the journey is wonderful! The walk starts at Km 104. We started hiking around 10:30 am. Visit the ruins of Chacchabamba (2250 meters). Around 4:00 pm we arrive to Puerta del Sol ("Inti Punko") where we will observe one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. From here continue walking towards the village of Aguas Calientes where we spend the night in a hotel

Day 2

After very early breakfast, take the bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu at dawn and before other tourists arrive. (You also have the option of walking up to the citadel). The guide will provide a guided tour of the ruins, about two hours. Then you will have free time to explore the archaeological remains at your own lunch (lunch not included). Have to be at the train station at 3:15 at the latest to take the 3:30 train back to Cusco. The arrival to Cusco is approximately 8.30pm - 9pm. Sometimes, Peru Rail organizes transfers by bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.
