Day 1: Paracas in – Paracas National Reserve

Reception and transfer to hotel. 10:30 Excursion to the Paracas National Reserve (Land Tour). The Paracas National Reserve is the oldest marine reserve in Peru and is of great importance due to the number of marine species that hosts, including mammals, birds and fish, as well as migratory birds. First we visit to the Julio C. Tello Museum (where we learn about the Paracas culture) and INRENA Interpretation Centre (fossils), fosile trail, Parihuanas or Flamingos viewpoint, Cathedral: rock formation, then we go to Lagunillas beach, for lunch and enjoy a refreshing bath (optional). Return. 16:00 We’re back in Paracas. Overnight in Paracas.

Day 2: Excursion Ballestas Islands – Ica City

08:00 Tour to the Ballestas Islands, in which we visit the Paracas Bay (place where the General San Martin disembarked), Punta Colorado, The Chandelier (Candelabra) (very similar geoglyph to the Nazca lines), Ballestas Islands which are natural rock formations that contain a important marine fauna, home to large colonies of sea birds guanay, boobies, pelicans Cormorant, Humboldt penguins, sea lions, dolphins, among others. Sea lions are very friendly and swim around and close to the boats. 10:30 We are back in Paracas and leave for Ica. We start the tour visiting Ica Regional Museum (ceramics, mummies), then we visit the winery and pisco destilleries, we will taste piscos and wines. Finally we visit the Huacachina Lagoon, this oasis amid the dunes, buggy rides and we will will practice sandboarding. 18:15 Transfer Ica / Nasca by bus. 20:15 Arrival to Nazca and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Nazca.

Day 3: Nazca Lines – Chauchilla Cementery – Nazca Out

Early in the morning, transfer to hotel – airport, to fly over the Nazca Lines (35 minutes): we take a plane to see the full extent of the lines that don’t stop making the world to question about the origins or purpose of this enigmatical lines. These mysterious lines found in the Nazca desert are spread in a radius of 50 kilometers of length a and 15 kilometers wide, all in one of the driest desert soils of the world, which hides layers of brown to the view, yellow when steping on it, and finally white. These lines were studied by the german mathematician Maria Reiche for over half a century, after which, she said the lines were a giant calendar representing the movement of the sun, moon and constellations. The lines represent animals such as monkey, hummingbird, spider, condor, dog, lizard, whales and figures like astronaut, the tree, hands, etc.. Transfer to the bus agency. Then we visit the Chauchilla pre-Inca cemetery. The Chauchilla archaeological site is in a desert area about 28 kilometers from Nazca city. For many years the cemetery was looted by treasure hunters who destroyed tombs and stole valuables (ceramics, textiles, gold, silver, etc), leaving the bodies of mummies around the desert surface, which can be seen today. After exploring Chauchilla, we visit the craft center of gold and ceramics. Transfer to the bus agency.
